Job summary

Thompson Machinery is seeking a Rental Field Service Technician in Tennessee to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and service of Cat Rentals and allied equipment. You will work largely independently from a company-provided field service truck, serving customers at various locations and service shops, reporting to the Rental Store or Service Manager.

• Read and interpret technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals and company policies.
• Monitor and maintain proper fluid levels in equipment.
• Notify customer of status, availability, or urgent concerns promptly.
• Operate equipment after service to check for leaks or further repair needs.
• Research and order parts for customer or company equipment.
