Job summary

Denton County is seeking a Driver Equipment Operator III to operate heavy earth-moving equipment for road and bridge maintenance. You will handle bulldozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes, and may train others in equipment use.

Position requires a High School diploma or GED, a Class A CDL, and an N endorsement within 3 months. On-call during storms and safety inspections are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver’s License issued by the State of Texas.
• Driver’s License with “N” endorsement within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment such as bulldozers, loaders, graders and backhoes for road and bridge maintenance.
• Trains and educates other employees in the use and operation of heavy equipment.
• Performs flagging and traffic control duties; remains on-call during storms and weather-related issues.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Cleans debris and assists in maintenance of rights-of-way and road signs.
