Job summary

Greenwood County is seeking a dependable team player for our road crew who will operate and maintain a variety of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, loaders, graders, crane and other road maintenance machinery. You will perform routine preventive maintenance, assist with traffic control, set up work zones and direct traffic as needed, and complete tasks according to work orders from the Public Works department.

A valid CDL (Class A) and a high school diploma or GED are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least one year of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Valid CDL Class A license (SC).

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy machinery to perform road construction and maintenance tasks.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Assists in traffic control and sets up work zones.
• Transports equipment to job sites and completes work orders.
• Directs traffic at the job site and ensures safety.
