Job summary

Denton County is seeking a Driver/Equipment Operator II to perform specialized skilled work operating heavy equipment for road and bridge maintenance. You will handle tasks from patching roads to culvert installation while ensuring safety and proper equipment function.

The role requires a Texas Class B CDL with an N endorsement (Class A with N is a plus) and related experience. Benefits include health coverage, retirement programs, holidays, and paid time off; this is a full-time, on-site

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 2+ years of related experience or equivalent.
• Must possess a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued by the State of Texas with an N endorsement.
• CDL with N endorsement required within 3 months of employment; Class A CDL with N endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (compactors, front‑end loaders, tractors, backhoes) for road and bridge maintenance.
• Perform traffic control, flagging, barricades, and site safety during projects.
• Move materials and perform road repair tasks including culverts, brush, and roadside maintenance.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment; ensure safe operating conditions.
• Direct traffic at construction sites as needed and assist with equipment loading/unloading.
