Job summary

DeKalb County Government seeks a skilled equipment operator to drive and operate heavy trucks and machinery for county maintenance, utilities, and construction tasks. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two years of experience operating heavy trucks and/or off-road construction equipment or related field.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and vehicles for county maintenance, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
• Drive roll-off container trucks, attach and detach containers, and dump materials.
• Operate bobcat, backhoe, front loader, tractors with boom mowing systems, and knuckle-boom trucks.
• Perform routine maintenance and vehicle inspections; refuel and perform minor repairs.
• Inspect equipment prior to use and document work through forms and records.
• Coordinate with supervisor and crew to ensure safety and efficiency.
