Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Sr Heavy Equipment Mechanic to safely diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy equipment in Southern Arizona. The role involves servicing CAT and John Deere machines, performing preventive maintenance, and welding as needed to keep equipment operating at peak performance.

Responsibilities include on-site travel to job sites, using a range of diagnostic and hydraulic tools, and ensuring compliance with safety rules and Granite’s Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing, maintaining and repairing heavy equipment.
• Experience with CAT and John Deere earth-moving equipment.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Welding experience (MIG/TIG/Stick).
• Willing to travel to job sites across Southern Arizona.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, replacement and repairs on heavy equipment.
• Conduct mechanical and lubrication maintenance and inspections.
• Perform welding on equipment as needed.
• Operate a mechanic truck on job sites in Southern Arizona.
• Use tools to diagnose and repair electronics, hydraulics, powertrain, and more.
• Follow safety policies and Granite Code of Conduct.
