Job summary

Berg Construction, LLC in Morgantown, PA is seeking a Senior Estimator / Preconstruction Manager with 8–10+ years of heavy civil experience. You will lead detailed heavy civil estimates, manage bid strategy, and drive opportunities from inquiry to award.

You’ll work closely with the President and Owner, build relationships with GCs, developers, and municipalities, and mentor estimating staff while maintaining a hands-on role.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of heavy civil estimating experience.
• Proven ability to lead bid development and negotiations.
• Strong field production understanding and procurement knowledge.
• Established relationships in the southeastern/southcentral PA market.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Personally build detailed heavy civil estimates and bids.
• Lead estimates in HCSS HeavyBid.
• Evaluate plans, quantities, crews, equipment, and risk.
• Develop bid strategy with President and Owner.
• Determine which opportunities to pursue.
• Develop budgets, VE ideas, and negotiated opportunities.
• Present proposals and help sell the work.
• Turn opportunities through negotiation to award.
• Mentor and develop estimating support personnel.
• Build and lead preconstruction processes.
• Compare estimates to actual project performance for improvement.
