Job summary

Morgan Corp. in Charlotte, NC seeks a Chief Estimator to lead the heavy civil preconstruction team. You will develop budgets, cost estimates, bid strategies, and pricing for division projects, and ensure standardized estimating procedures are applied.

You will manage self-performed work, subcontractor procurement, cost databases, bid management systems, and estimating software while guiding staff and aligning with operations leadership.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in heavy civil construction with 10+ years in estimating.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience estimating self-performed heavy civil projects (earthwork, utilities, infrastructure).
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and bid types.

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating process for bids and awards with standardized procedures.
• Develop budgets, cost estimates, and bid strategies for division projects.
• Manage historical cost databases and preconstruction tools.
• Mentor estimating personnel and promote continuous improvement.
• Review plans and contracts to ensure complete scope and accurate pricing.
