Job summary

S&B USA Construction, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Senior Estimator to join our heavy highway/heavy civil estimating team. You will focus on price development, take-offs, and bid strategy for projects ranging from $10M to $100M.

Ideal candidates have a 4-year Engineering degree, solid estimating experience, and strong math/computer skills. Design Build/P3 and advanced software proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• 4-year Engineering Degree or equivalent.
• Estimating experience in heavy highway/heavy civil.
• Technical training and/or related experience.
• Advanced math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly review project specifications and drawings.
• Produce accurate take-offs and pricing for Heavy Highway/Heavy Civil components.
• Complete cost estimates on projects from $10M to $100M.
• Solicit subcontractors and vendors for quotations.
• Prepare/manage Minorit y Participation matrix.
• Analyze self-perform activities versus subcontracted.
• Prepare/assist in creating construction schedules and equipment utilization schedules.
• Update databases with labor rates, vendor values and equipment rates.
• Mentor younger estimators and manage a small team of assistants.
• Coordinate quantity and cost comparison with Joint Venture Partners.
