Job summary

The role requires deep knowledge of estimating processes, cost drivers, and collaboration with field operations.

You will review drawings, analyze site conditions, and consider alternatives to improve bid competitiveness, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience.
• 7+ years of construction estimating support or related experience.
• 4+ years estimating experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office, AGTEK Take-off and Primavera Scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate proposals and estimates for private and public sector works.
• Comprehend and administer a safety program meeting Granite’s incident goals.
• Promote understanding of environmental policies and ensure compliance.
• Foster a quality culture ensuring service meets standards and customer expectations.
• Analyze data to estimate costs for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Review drawings and site conditions; solicit field input for estimates.
• Evaluate alternative construction methods to improve bid competitiveness.
• Review take-off quantities for data accuracy.
• Use cost history to validate estimates.
• Apply advanced calculations for cost accuracy.
• Assess bidding risks and present estimates in bid reviews with management.
• Analyze competition and communicate with owners/subcontractors to stay competitive.
• Communicate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings.
• Develop relationships to grow regional bid opportunities.
