Job summary

TrinityRail Maintenance Services, Inc. is seeking a talented team player to fill the open position of Senior Heavy Assembler, 1st & 2nd shift at our Shell Rock, IA office.

You will assemble fabricated parts to subassemblies or units while reading blueprints and following safety rules. Minimum of 2 years' experience, ability to apply torque up to 760 ft-lbs, and proficiency with hand and power tools are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience.
• Capable of applying torque up to 760 ft-lbs.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble fabricated parts to large subassemblies or complete units.
• Lay out reference points, position, align and fit together parts per blueprint.
• Utilize mechanical fastening (bolts, nuts, hucks).
• Apply torque sequence and values (certified).
• Utilize hand tools to bend or form parts.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• Be involved in safety committees or initiatives, as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll do

• Assemble fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies or complete units.
• Lay out reference points, position, align and fit together fabricated parts of metal or fiberglass mold according to blueprint and layout specifications fabrication.
• Utilize mechanical fastening (bolts, nuts, hucks)
• Apply appropriate torque sequence and values (certified)
• Utilize hand tools to bend or form parts
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Be involved in safety committees or initiatives, as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll need

Minimum of 2 year of experience

Capable of manually applying torque up to 760 ft-lbs in accordance with job requirements

Ability to read and understand blueprints

Experience using hand and power tools

Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a team
