Job summary

Arup’s West Coast Science team in Seattle seeks an Associate Principal to lead mechanical or electrical building systems for healthcare projects and beyond. The role combines project leadership, design excellence, and client relations to deliver sustainable, decarbonized solutions.

You’ll guide multidisciplinary teams, manage milestones, and ensure quality while advancing Arup’s mission to shape a resilient, healthy built environment through innovative design and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional experience designing mechanical or electrical building systems, healthcare project leadership.
• Professional Engineering license required or ability to obtain within 6 months of joining the firm.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Leader / Project Manager for healthcare design projects.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines and deliver coordinated design deliverables.
• Maintain client relations and manage project risks and milestones.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams across offices with a focus on sustainable design.
• Lead business development activities including client outreach and proposals.
