Job summary

OCMI, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator with Mechanical and Plumbing estimating expertise to join our cost management team.

This remote role focuses on leading comprehensive estimates for large healthcare projects, conducting QA/QC, and communicating strategies to clients and A/E consultants. You will mentor staff, support BD efforts with cost exhibits, and collaborate with internal stakeholders while supporting one of the nation’s largest healthcare programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years as a cost estimating professional, preferably with a large national GC or consultant, including conceptual estimating, take-offs, change order review/reconciliation, value engineering, risk mitigation.
• Mechanical and Plumbing (M/P) estimating experience is required.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs and coordination documents including M/P disciplines.
• Proficient with On-Screen Takeoff or similar quantity takeoff software; strong Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to travel intermittently.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimates, studies, analyses, and evaluations for projects.
• Provide conceptual and detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, change orders, and value engineering.
• Develop and present cost models communicating client goals; oversee QA/QC.
• Mentor estimating staff and support professional growth.
• Support business development with cost exhibits for proposals and meetings.
