Job summary

Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor seeks a Senior Construction Project Engineer to lead and manage complex facility projects within the Facilities Planning and Development group. You will oversee design, budgeting, scheduling, bidding, and activation of healthcare facilities, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

This role requires collaboration with departments and vendors to deliver safe, functional spaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from ABET-accredited engineering program or NAAB-accredited first professional degree in Architecture.
• 7–10 years of experience as construction manager, consultant, or project manager in healthcare.
• Working knowledge of design and construction of healthcare facilities and environments.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review facility improvements, cost estimates, scopes, schedules, and budgets; support Facility Condition Assessment program.
• Oversee project delivery for owned/leased facilities; manage programming, design, construction documents, bidding, activation, and installations.
• Serve as a liaison with departments; assist in estimating costs and sequencing activities.
• Maintain architectural/construction guidelines, vendor relations, and material knowledge.
