Job summary

The City of Raleigh invites applications for Health, Safety, and Worker's Compensation Manager within the HR Department. This role leads health, safety, and workers’ compensation initiatives across the organization, shapes strategy, strengthens incident prevention, and builds new programs.

You will lead a team, partner with safety professionals city-wide, ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA requirements, and guide return-to-work and accommodations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 7–9 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop assigned employees by setting clear expectations and accountability.
• Oversee Workers' Compensation and claims administration, review injury claims, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Lead enterprise-wide health and safety compliance efforts by advising safety personnel and conducting audits.
• Plan, organize, and administer major health and safety programs and policy development.
• Conduct research and analysis of enterprise health and safety issues to develop strategies and programs.
• Lead implementation of enterprise-wide health/safety initiatives and monitor accident reports and regulatory compliance.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Public Administration, or related field
