Job summary

Dragonfly Pond Works in Raleigh, NC seeks a Safety Manager to promote a strong safety culture, oversee safety programs, and minimize risk to support operational excellence and growth.

Reporting to the Director of HR, you will develop, implement, and enforce safety policies; conduct inspections; lead trainings; investigate incidents; ensure OSHA/DOT compliance; maintain records; and collaborate with operations to align safety with field performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience managing safety programs.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, and DOT regulations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and job site audits.
• Lead safety meetings and training for field crews and drivers.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and corrective action plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other relevant federal/state regulations.
• Maintain safety records, certifications, and documentation.
• Oversee driver qualification files and ensure all operators meet licensing requirements.
• Implement programs to reduce risk, incidents, and insurance costs.
• Collaborate with HR on workers' compensation cases and return-to-work programs.
• Train and coach team members on safe driving and equipment operation.
• Serve as the primary contact for all safety matters.
• Partner with operations leadership to align safety goals with field performance.
• Prepare and present regular reports on safety performance metrics.
