Job summary

City of Raleigh seeks an experienced Health, Safety, and Worker’s Compensation Manager to lead the division within the HR Department. You will guide safety programs, manage claims, and partner with city teams to reduce risk while promoting a safety-first culture.

You will oversee training, audits, reporting, and regulatory compliance, leveraging data to drive improvements and protect employees across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required; 7–9 years of supervisory-level experience in project management, compensation, HR compliance, or related work.
• Equivalency of training and/or experience may be substituted for degree requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop assigned employees with clear expectations and accountability.
• Oversee workers’ compensation claims management, analyze data, identify trends, and reduce risk and costs.
• Advise on safety policies, SOPs, and conduct periodic audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Administer enterprise-wide health and safety programs and evaluate results for improvements.
• Lead safety education and training, including OSHA 10/30 and CDL training when needed.
• Prepare monthly/annual reporting such as OSHA 300/300A and NC BLS.
