Job summary

Mondelēz International is seeking an HSE professional for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Birmingham, Alabama to lead health, safety and environmental programs across the site and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

You will drive a culture of zero incidents, perform risk assessments, investigations, and corrective actions, and collaborate with engineering and operations to integrate HSE into all projects and daily activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in Health and Safety within manufacturing environments.
• Engineering or technical background with knowledge in HSE.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to work with individuals at all levels.

Responsibilities

That means you will ensure thatfacilities provided are well maintained, regulation/procedure are in placeand implemented, hazards/aspects assessments are conducted, the accident both caused by unsafe acts and conditions are reduced and analysed.

How you will contribute

You will:

• Assist in leading the cultural transformation regarding HSE to help the plant to achieve Zero accidents and Incidents
• Be responsible for coordinating and overseeing implementation of all Health & Safety programs and processes in your respective section and across the whole site.
• Participate in investigations to facilitate closure of identified non-conformances.
• Provide Health and Safety expertise for your section and plant for all new projects and change management activities.
• Follow up on non-conformances and develops the systems to resolve them based on root cause analysis
• Maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system, assist with investigating incidents in conjunction with the HSE Pillarteam/safety committee and drive the completion of corrective actions to eliminate root causes/reoccurrence
• Develop technical guidance programs to identify and remove physical hazards.
• Understand relevant technical requirements in Health & Safety and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Ensures appropriate risk assessments are conducted and follow ups implemented to minimize or eliminate accidents, asset losses that might cause harm to one of the company’s employees, contractors, visitors.
• Review performance in Health & Safety and facilitates implementation corrective and preventative actions where required
• Ensure the facility standards are following both Company and governmental/community regulations.
• Ensure training and coaching are taking place to drive a safety perfect culture and to ensure Health & Safety standards and awareness are well understood throughout the plant organization
• Handle implementation and compliance with industrial, equipment protection, machine guarding and other health and safety technical standards.
• Conduct workplace surveys, safety audits, safety assessment, accident investigations.
• Provide safety consultation and information to support all company safety efforts.
• Support the site in its integrated lean six sigma IL6S journey by helping to implement the tools to build a stronger culture.
