Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers in Danville, Virginia, seeks a Business Manager C for the Virginia Department of Health Pittsylvania-Danville and Southside Health Districts. This senior leadership role manages budgets, staffing, facilities, and operations, reporting to the District/Office Director and serving as a primary spokesperson for business operations.

It requires broad administrative expertise and statewide travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of public administration, business management, finance, procurement, contracting, human resources and facilities management.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Strong personnel, financial, presentation and communication skills; proficient with spreadsheets and data analyses.
• Ability to plan and direct financial and administrative operations with long- and short-term strategic planning.
• Willingness to travel statewide; a valid state driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for core business functions in the district/office.
• Lead performance, program, and resource management and strategic activity.
• Foster leadership and staff engagement across units.
• Indirectly allocate funding, staffing and oversee facilities and HR practices.
• May travel and participate in emergencies or special assignments as needed.
