The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is seeking a skilled Buyer to support procurement of goods and services for the Henrico Health District. The role involves following Virginia procurement laws, writing quotes, soliciting bids, and monitoring orders to ensure timely delivery.

Based at Henrico HQ, duties include assisting with deposits and administrative tasks, with standard benefits and a structured 40-hour work week. Public health mission and compliance are central to the role.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of procurement laws, policies and procedures
• Knowledge of automated procurement systems
• Working knowledge of and ability to apply standard accounting principles and guidelines
• Ability to interpret and apply established policies, guidelines and procedures
• Ability to prepare, maintain and reconcile financial reports and data
• Proficiency and experience with the use of basic computer operating systems to include Word, Excel, Power Point and Access

Responsabilités

• Procure a variety of services, materials, supplies, products and equipment
• Write Quick Quotes, solicit bids, evaluate and award purchases as instructed
• Monitor orders and expedite for delivery
• Assist with daily deposits and mail processing as needed
• Provide backup for Fiscal Tech and perform general administrative tasks as required
