Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin, TX is seeking a Research Specialist V to develop and implement research procedures for Medicaid and managed care programs. You will design analytic methods and perform complex data analyses to support reimbursement and payment strategies.

The role requires advanced statistical skills, experience with large datasets, and the ability to prepare legislative reports and presentations for executive staff.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited 4-year college or university.
• Minimum 2 years experience with Excel.
• Minimum 1 year experience with SQL, Tableau, or an analytics tool such as SAS, Stata, SPSS, R, or Python preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex research related to HHSC program data and research needs necessary to develop reimbursement rates and supplemental payment programs.
• Coordinate, plan, develop, and monitor research-related projects with outlines and findings.
• Prepare reports and presentations on financial programs and initiatives to HHSC leadership.
• Coordinate with program staff for data analysis and reporting requirements.
