Job summary

Orion Marine Group, a leader in marine and heavy civil construction, seeks an experienced estimator to drive bid development for complex projects across Washington and beyond. You will review plans, perform quantity surveys, and coordinate with suppliers to assemble competitive cost proposals.

The role requires at least five years in marine estimating, a related degree, and strong computer skills. Travel to project sites may be necessary, with a focus on safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Five years estimating experience in marine construction or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• Willingness to travel to project sites; passport required.
• Strong computer skills and ability to interface with all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist in bid estimation and preparation of proposals for marine construction projects.
• Conduct quantity surveys to develop cost estimates and pricing.
• Solicit quotations from material suppliers and subcontractors; compile data.
• Organize estimates, quotations, and plans for pre-bid review; lead item discussions.
• Review bid documents for risk, cost, and capability; assist with sequencing of labor.
• Prepare bid documents in worksheet form; maintain vendor files and tracking.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely quotes in compliance with plans.
• Contribute to Safety and Environmental initiatives aligned with regulations.
