Job summary

ATOMS seeks a Senior Harness Engineer to own wiring on our on-road autonomous vehicles, from design through fabrication and quality release. You will manage harness architecture, release drawings, and oversee fabrication and inspection across vehicle platforms and revisions.

This hands-on role lives in the garage and on the build floor, collaborating with harness manufacturers. You will define routing, verify fit, lead first articles, and drive changes through PLM, focusing on build quality and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
5+ years designing and releasing wire harnesses for vehicles, aircraft, or robotic systems, including concept to production release.
Experience producing buildable harness documentation: schematics, harness drawings, pinouts, BOMs in CAD tools, with 3D routing.

Responsibilities

Design the wire harnesses that connect sensors, compute, power, and vehicle interfaces across on-road platforms.
Produce and release complete harness packages: schematics, drawings, pinouts, BOMs with 3D routing.
Define routing, retention, and protection, verify fit, bend radius, and strain relief on first installation.
Build and test prototype harnesses in house and coordinate first articles with manufacturers.
Write work instructions, inspection criteria, and end-of-line test procedures for harness fabrication.
Ensure IPC/WHMA-A-620 compliance, including crimp validation and test methods.
Coordinate harness variants across platforms and drive ECNs through PLM.
