Job summary

Kodiak Robotics, Inc. seeks a Lead Harness Engineer/Manager to own harness architecture across its autonomous vehicle platform. You will guide high-speed, low-voltage, and high-power harness design, set standards, manage supplier relationships, and lead cross-functional reviews.

This hands-on leadership role requires 10+ years in hardware, deep harness expertise, and strong communication. Mountain View, CA based with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years hardware development in safety-critical industries with leadership.
• Deep expertise in electrical harness design at system level.
• Experience setting design/quality standards and mentoring engineers.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Familiarity with IPC quality standards and applying them to processes.
• Experience with CAN, Ethernet, and LIN on-vehicle debugging.
• Ability to lead supplier negotiations and external manufacturing partnerships.
• Hands-on work style for shop debugging and architecture decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; passionate about autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for wire harness and subassembly design.
• Set and enforce design standards, review processes, and DFM/DFA practices.
• Drive make/buy and supplier strategy for harness manufacturing; manage key partnerships.
• Lead trade studies on harness topology, routing, connectors with system-level impact.
• Own full program lifecycle governance: reviews, DVP&R, testing, and release.
• Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions across teams.
• Define automated harness validation tooling and test strategy.
• Mentor harness and electrical engineers; directly manage a harness team.
• Represent harness engineering in cross-functional and exec reviews.
