Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Senior Hardware Validation Engineer to define validation strategy and roadmaps for complex mechatronic hardware across product lines. You will lead the bring-up of test environments and influence testability and reliability from design through production.

Collaboration across mechanical, electrical and systems teams is essential to ensure robust architectures, scalable test platforms, and successful validation of high-reliability hardware across global platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics or related field.
• 4+ years of hardware validation, mechatronic system design, or product development.
• 4+ years of test equipment architecture, including design of custom electrical/mechanical test rigs and automated stations.
• Proven track record of defining test limits and pass/fail criteria for high-reliability hardware.
• Experience leading technical projects spanning multiple product families or global platforms.

Responsibilities

• Execute validation requirements and DVP&R strategies across product lines.
• Approve complex test specifications and pass/fail criteria for reliability.
• Architect scalable test platforms for multiple hardware variants.
• Lead bring-up of high-complexity test stations and serve as escalation point.
• Collaborate with hardware design teams to influence PCB and mechanical designs for DFT/DFM.
• Perform failure mode analysis using advanced tools to drive root cause.
• Direct external suppliers and labs to meet validation benchmarks.
• Manage vendors to implement validation tools and infrastructure.
• Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally to support development.
