Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Hardware Engineer 3 to join the Hardware Sustaining group in a primarily onsite role. You will investigate and remediate critical hardware issues in flagship networking products, document root causes, and drive corrective actions to improve product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering.
• 8+ years hardware design, debug and testing experience at board/system level.
• Expertise in debugging hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and networking test equipment (IXIA/Spirent, PCI analyzers, in-circuit emulators). PCB design: schematic capture, PCB layout, routing.
• Familiarity with Cadence System Design tool suite.
• Knowledge of networking hardware and interfaces (switch ASICs, PHY, SerDes, CPU subsystems, optics, PoE, PCIe, NVMe, SATA, I2C, USB).
• Expertise in high-speed circuit design and debug.
• Familiarity with signal and power integrity concepts and tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive progress.
• Ability to manage hardware debug/design projects to closure.
• Strong verbal/written communication; cross-functional collaboration.
• Team player with leadership and results focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead failure analysis for critical hardware issues from field/factory.
• Document RCCA and drive corrective actions.
• Share lessons learned to improve hardware quality.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing/Operations for corrective actions.
• Work with Customer Support to address hardware concerns.
• Analyze hardware quality metrics to identify trends needing investigation.
• Provide technical leadership for multi-sourcing and change management.
• Review hardware test reports before product release.
• Identify quality concerns and work with design teams to resolve.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
