Job summary

Iris Energy in San Francisco (hybrid) seeks a Senior Product Quality Engineer to own the quality strategy for next‑gen AI hardware, partnering with OEM/ODM/JDM and suppliers to meet cycle‑time, cost and yield targets. You will drive DFx, test methodology, and corrective actions across rack‑scale systems.

You will lead failure analyses, establish KPIs, and mentor a team of engineers while collaborating with engineering, supply chain, and data center operations to deliver high‑quality AI hardware

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in manufacturing, test and product quality for data center hardware or AI infra.
• Autonomy in defining quality strategy, test plans and corrective actions.
• Experience with hardware architecture and high‑performance compute systems.
• Experience collaborating with OEM/ODM/JDM partners on data center hardware.
• Hands‑on with manufacturing test solutions and test coverage.
• Experience with DFx (DfM, DfA, DfT, DfQ, DfS) and quality governance.
• Knowledge of quality tools (FACA, 8D, FMEA, SPC) and managing changes in PLM.
• Experience with AI hardware programs (NVIDIA GB200/GB300, VR200) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own quality strategy and processes for next‑gen AI hardware systems.
• Define test methods and quality standards with suppliers and partners.
• Lead cross‑functional troubleshooting for rack‑ and system‑level hardware.
• Execute Failure Analysis and Corrective Action to meet yield goals.
• EngageEngineering early to implement robust DFx requirements.
• Advance test coverage and infrastructure for reliability and scalability.
• Conduct First Article and Source Inspections on components and assemblies.
• Manage BOMs, engineering changes, and manufacturing process changes in PLM tools.
• Establish KPIs and governance with partners; report performance to leadership.
• Serve as senior escalation point and mentor for quality, manufacturing and test.
