Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. in Andover, MA is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead complex NPI and development programs in the Vacuum Products division.

You will drive multi-project execution from concept to production launch, align cross-functional teams, manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk, and report status to leadership. This role requires strong influence, technical curiosity, and the ability to operate in a matrixed environment with clear upward communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in hardware product development.
• Experience managing programs with multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong knowledge of stage-gate or similar processes.
• Proficiency with Gantt/PERT charts and PM tools.
• Ability to influence in matrixed organizations with limited direct authority.
• Experience in customer-facing engineering relationships.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-project programs across full product development lifecycle.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk using the MKS Product Development Process.
• Drive cross-functional coordination across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and business teams.
• Develop and maintain integrated program schedules and surface conflicts early.
• Own program financials including budget development and variance reporting.
• Lead program and gate reviews with senior leadership.
• Maintain project documentation and traceability per ISO quality requirements.
• Resolve resourcing and technical challenges by influencing colleagues.
