Job summary

OPSWAT, Inc. is seeking a Principal Hardware Product Manager to own the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle of its security appliance portfolio. You will align hardware requirements with market needs, drive end-to-end NPI, and manage certifications across critical infrastructure markets.

You will interact with hardware engineering, supply chain, software product, and compliance teams to deliver differentiated, certifiable, manufacturable products at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product management experience in hardware for networked or appliance-class products.
• Strong understanding of NPI process and gate model (Concept → Proto → EVT → DVT → PVT → MP).
• BPO or business case creation experience including BOM cost, ASP, margin, and inventory exposure.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-year hardware roadmap across the appliance portfolio and form factors.
• Drive full NPI lifecycle from concept to mass production with gate criteria and schedule.
• Manage lifecycle stages: GA, sustaining, EOS/EOSL, last-time-buy planning, and migration paths.
• Define and publish lifecycle policies for support windows, RMAs, spare-parts SLAs.
• Own appliance P&L levers including BOM cost, margins, and inventory exposure.
• Translate market insights into hardware requirements (performance, security, ruggedization).
• Lead certification plan across portfolio (FIPS, CC/NIAP, DoDIN APL, FCC/CE/UKCA, RoHS/REACH).
• Coordinate hardware certifications with software/firmware dependencies.
