Job summary

Atom Computing, Inc. in Austin, TX, seeks a hands-on Senior Hardware Engineer with expertise in high speed mixed-signal design to lead control system hardware for our quantum computer.

You will drive hardware strategy across multiple projects while performing detailed engineering work. Responsibilities include architecting analog and RF front ends, selecting DAC/ADC, power and clocking strategies, and PCB layout in Altium, collaborating with FPGA, firmware, and software teams to bring systems

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant postgraduate professional experience in board-level analog and digital circuit design, preferably with Altium Designer.

Responsibilities

• Design high level system architectures for instruments with analog and RF front end designs, signal conditioning and amplification, DAC/ADC selection, power and clocking schemes, and control circuitry.
• Own research, simulation, prototyping, evaluation, and design of high speed mixed-signal front ends for driving high speed and high resolution analog signals interfacing with lasers and actuators.
• Collaborate with quantum engineers and other groups to define hardware design requirements.
• Board-level circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout in Altium Designer of custom control system hardware.
• Participate in bring-up, verification, and testing of control system hardware with FPGA, firmware, and software teams.
