Job summary

Atom Computing, Inc. seeks a hands-on Principal Hardware Engineer to lead the control-system hardware for our quantum computer. Based in Boulder, CO, you will drive architecture, FPGA/control selections, and high-speed interfaces while mentoring the hardware team.

Requirements include a BS or MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 10+ years’ board-level analog/digital design experience, with preferred Altium Designer proficiency.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of postgrad experience in board-level analog and digital design.
• Experience with large high-pin-count ICs and high-speed interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Drive high-level system architectures for instruments and PCBA partitioning.
• Advise on high-speed mixed-signal front ends and clocking strategies.
• Lead hardware design from concept through prototyping, reviews, bring-up and production.
• Collaborate with quantum engineers to define hardware requirements.
