Job summary

Actalent in Sheboygan, WI is seeking a Hardware Engineer to develop, test, and optimize PCB solutions for residential and power products. You will collaborate with hardware and software teams to deliver robust analog, digital, RF, and mixed-signal designs, emphasizing reliability and high-volume manufacturability in a connected IoT ecosystem.

This permanent, hybrid role involves hands-on lab work about three days a week, reviewing designs, performing validation tests, and ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• 6+ years of electrical hardware development experience.
• Proven ability to collaborate with or lead technical teams on hardware projects.
• Hands-on circuit capture and PCB design with OrCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead key portions of new product development from concept through design for manufacturing for analog, digital, RF, and mixed-signal circuits.
• Contribute to sustaining engineering for existing product lines; support updates and issue resolution.
• Define electrical hardware requirements, specifications, and system architecture with cross-functional teams.
• Plan and execute hardware validation tests for reliability and performance.
• Support safety, EMC, and environmental compliance activities across development lifecycle.
• Participate in design reviews and drive continuous improvement of products and processes.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues during development, verification, and testing phases.
• Document design architecture, implementation details and test results clearly.
• Use lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DMMs) for analysis and debugging.
• Develop custom electrical fixtures to support test needs.
