Job summary

Tive is seeking a Hardware Engineering - Sustaining expert to maintain the in-market fleet, drive root-cause analysis, and manage ECOs across high-volume electronics. You will own field failure investigations, coordinate with contract manufacturers, and support manufacturing for US-market products.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in hardware sustaining or NPI, with strong PCB/schematic reviews and structured RCA skills. Hybrid/facility-based work options available.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; 4+ years in hardware sustaining, NPI or manufacturing for high-volume electronics.
• Solid grasp of reading schematics/PCB designs; assess changes' risks in power trees.
• Direct experience with contract manufacturers: DFM, yield, FATP/SMT; resolve production issues.
• Structured root-cause discipline (8D/5-Why/fishbone) with closed corrective actions with suppliers.
• Comfortable owning ambiguous, cross-cutting problems in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Field-issue root cause — own investigation of returns and field failures; drive root-cause analysis to closure with clear confirmed-vs-inferred findings.
• ECO / revision management — manage engineering change orders, PCB respins, and component substitutions; maintain revision traceability across the fleet.
• Component & supplier issues — handle EOL, second-sourcing, and vendor quality escalations; drive supplier 8D/SCAR actions.
• Manufacturing support — support Luxshare with production issues, yield analysis, DFM feedback, and FATP/SMT line support; assist CM shift for US-market products.
• RMA / refurb — own the RMA and refurbishment engineering path; feed field-failure patterns back into design and verification.
• Cross-pod triage — act as first responder for sustaining issues across all product lines; escalate when new design work is required.
