Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to own platform development for compute and GPU servers. You will define requirements, review schematics, and drive NPI while leading bring-up and validation across power, thermal, and system integration.

You will collaborate with OEM/ODM partners and manage firmware/Bios/OpenBMC features, aiming for high performance, reliability, and efficiency. Must be ready to work in the Cambridge office five days a week.

Qualifications

8+ years of hardware engineering experience.
Foundation in server architecture and board-level design/debug.
Proficient with low‑level buses and test equipment.
Experience with platform validation (power/thermal, SI, PCIe/NVMe).
Strong Linux scripting and data-driven reporting skills.

Responsibilities

Own platform development for compute and GPU servers.
Define requirements, review schematics, guide DFM, drive NPI stages.
Lead bring-up and debug of boards and systems (power/thermal/storage/networking).
Develop and execute validation plans, root-cause issues HW/FW/SW.
Collaborate with OEM/ODM, silicon, and component suppliers for optimal configs.
Manage firmware/BIOS/OpenBMC feature sets (power, performance, secure boot).
Qualify technologies: PCIe Gen5/Gen6 GPUs, CPUs, NICs, DPUs, NVMe.
Design and validate GPU platforms including PCIe/NVLink topologies.
