Job summary

Waabi is seeking an experienced hardware engineer to own PCBAs from schematic to vehicle integration at our Pittsburgh/SF base. You will design high-speed, analog, and digital circuits, and collaborate with contract manufacturers to bring boards up in the lab and verify performance in real-world conditions.

You will lead 10+ year hardware development initiatives, manage test fixtures, V&V efforts, and ensure compliance with automotive standards.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years in hardware development, with hands-on lab work.
• 2–3+ years in a formal leadership role.
• Experience with ECAD tools: Altium, OrCAD, KiCAD.
• Familiarity with automotive standards ISO 26262, ISO 16750, AEC-Q.
• Ability to read schematics, layouts, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Own PCBAs from schematic to vehicle integration.
• Design high-speed, power, analog, and digital circuits.
• Work with contract manufacturers to build and test boards.
• Verify designs with SPICE and ensure lab bring-up.
• Develop test fixtures and oversee end-of-line verification.
• Scale hardware from prototype to production with CM coordination.
