Job summary

Fidus Systems is seeking a Hardware Designer to architect and deliver high-performance electronic systems. You will collaborate with FPGA, software, and SI teams to define architectures, design high-speed circuits, and support bring-up through validation.

The role emphasizes tackling DDR/PCIe/SerDes challenges, multi-layer PCB design, and thorough documentation, while mentoring junior engineers. Fully remote with travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level technical degree in electronics hardware.
• 5+ years direct electronics design experience.
• Ability to lead a design technically and as a mentor.
• Strong knowledge of high-speed circuit and multi-layer PCB design.
• Experience with DDR4, PCIe Gen4, MIPI, Gigabit Ethernet, USB-C, HDMI, SerDes, JESD204B.
• Cadence design tools experience.
• Hands-on debugging with scopes, VNAs, signal generators.

Responsibilities

• Architect system and board level designs with software/FPGA teams.
• Select components for high-speed circuits and memory buses.
• Run simulations (LTSpice) and bench-test prototypes.
• Coordinate with SI team for critical nets analysis.
• Lead design reviews to ensure quality standards.
• Create parts libraries and schematics with embedded constraints.
• Develop test plans and drive hardware bring-up and verification.
• Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance.
• Prepare technical/user documentation.
• Support pre- and post-project technical activities.
