Job summary

PeopleTec, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Mid/Senior-Level Hardware Design Engineer to develop FPGA designs and rugged PCBs for DoD applications. You will collaborate with design, test, and manufacturing teams to mature technologies from lab to production.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on hardware experience, strong layout and schematic skills, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Travel around 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience or equivalent graduate research.
• Experience with physical layout design tools.
• Design experience with component selection, schematic capture, layout, and release to fab.
• Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements.
• Experience developing and reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex digital systems.
• This position is not suitable for remote work.
• Travel: 10 %.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance, with the ability to be nominated for and granted access to additional programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop FPGA designs and firmware for components.
• Design custom PCBs with large FPGA and microcontroller components for evaluation, development, and test.
• Participate in component selection for rugged environmental testing.
• Prepare technical and progress reports, develop specifications, evaluate suppliers, and analyze test reports.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Procurement.
• Develop, test and evaluate new technology solutions for DoD environments.
