Job summary

SLB in Utah is seeking a High Pressure Hydraulics System Engineer to design, test, and improve complex industrial machinery. This hands-on role combines mechanical design with building and validating equipment.

You will spend roughly half your time in the shop supporting assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and design validation, collaborating with engineers, technicians, and manufacturing staff to solve challenging hydraulic problems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5+ years designing, developing, and troubleshooting hydraulic systems.
Proficiency with PTC Creo and AutoCAD.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic components, circuits, valves, pumps, cylinders, and system diagnostics.
Experience with high-temperature, high-pressure press systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

Design and develop hydraulic and mechanical systems for industrial equipment.
Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using PTC Creo and AutoCAD.
Perform mechanical analysis, including component sizing, material selection, stress considerations, and design validation.
Develop and evaluate prototypes, perform testing, troubleshoot issues, and implement design improvements.
Provide mechanical design expertise and technical input to support projects led by other engineers.
Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to solve complex technical problems.
Document engineering designs, revisions, and test results.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
