Job summary

SLB is seeking a High Pressure Hydraulics System Engineer in Provo, Utah. The role blends design and hands‑on work, roughly 50/50 between engineering tasks and assembly/testing in the shop.

You will design hydraulic and mechanical systems, create 3D models and drawings, and validate designs for high‑pressure equipment used in industrial applications. Requirements include a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of hydraulic design experience, and proficiency with Creo and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years designing, developing, and troubleshooting hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with PTC Creo and AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic components, circuits, valves, pumps, cylinders, and system diagnostics.
• Solid understanding of material properties, mechanical strength, stress analysis and engineering design principles.
• Strong analytical problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hydraulic and mechanical systems for industrial equipment.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using PTC Creo and AutoCAD.
• Perform mechanical analysis, including sizing, material selection, stress considerations and validation.
• Develop prototypes, perform testing, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
• Provide mechanical design input to projects led by other engineers.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to solve complex problems.
• Document designs, revisions, and test results.
• Participate in continuous improvement for equipment performance and manufacturability.
