Job summary

CNA Insurance is seeking a Senior Guidewire specialist in Chicago who will design, configure, and integrate complex Guidewire Cloud solutions. You will mentor developers, work with cross-functional teams, and help drive production readiness and stable deliveries.

You will apply advanced knowledge of Guidewire Policy Center, Java/Spring Boot, REST and microservices, while leveraging AI-assisted tooling to accelerate configuration and improve quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of systems analysis and application program development experience, including at least 4 years with Guidewire implementations.
• Experience working with distributed teams including internal and external vendors.
• Guidewire Policy Center Ace or Guidewire Cloud Integration Ace certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design for major, complex systems and oversee configuration and integration of vendor applications with CNA applications.
• Provide advanced technical consultation across application development and production support, focusing on performance, testing, deployment, and SLA compliance.
• Mentor staff through all development phases and guide others in design and implementation work.
• Act as liaison between clients, vendors, and CNA applications to resolve issues and align requirements.
• Research and evaluate new solutions, recommending efficient, cost-effective options.
• Assist with technology selection and vendor/resource decisions to meet strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with Architecture to shape CNA’s technology direction and portfolio.
• May code new or modified programs or integrate purchased solutions.
• Support production and testing environments in collaboration with operations teams.
