Job summary

Discord is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead a talented design team through the full product cycle, from strategic visioning to launch and iteration. You will own the new-user journey, spanning discovery, sign-up, onboarding, notifications, and early experiences.

Reporting to the Director of Product Design, you will mentor designers across acquisition, activation, and re-engagement, guiding teams to deliver high-quality, user-centered experiences with empathy and strategic clarity.

Qualifications

• > 10 years of experience in scaled consumer-facing digital product design, ideally including growth/onboarding/lifecycle experiences.
• 4+ years directly managing design teams of 4+people, with talent growth and culture building.
• Ability to simplify complex problems and turn insights into product directions.
• Experience designing acquisition/activation/lifecycle experiences and influencing retention.
• Strong communication with peers and executives to drive action.
• Leadership rooted in empathy; staff and grow teams in challenging contexts.
