Job summary

Discord is seeking a senior Product Designer to lead end-to-end UX for gaming and developer experiences across platforms. You will partner with engineers, PMs and researchers to ship designs from concept to launch and iterate after release.

You will own craft quality, influence roadmaps, and strengthen our design system while presenting to teams and leadership. A passion for games and community helps drive strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading design on end-to-end consumer products across web, mobile, desktop and console.
• Experience working on B2B/B2B2C products and platforms.
• Expert-level experience with Figma and high-fidelity prototyping tools, and confidence in utilizing AI to create prototypes.
• Strong product thinking and strategic vision; translate business requirements into intuitive UX.
• Mastery of design craft: typography, color theory, layout and interaction design; pixel-perfect execution.
• Storytelling and influence across peers and leadership.
• Strong, proactive communication to develop product strategy and roadmaps.
• Understand the "why" before the "how" and use data to inform design decisions.
• Experience contributing to a design system with components and sub-systems.

Responsibilities

• Embed within a product squad with engineers, product managers, researchers, and data scientists to oversee the user experience from concept to launch, and improve it after release.
• Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes and help implement designs to pixel perfection; quality check all work as built.
• Own the bar for craft, execution and production quality for the product team, and uplevel production quality through playtesting.
• Influence the team’s roadmap with a deep understanding of the product space and define the "how" of the product strategy.
• Present designs to the team and organization to drive alignment around the work.
• Identify gaps or improvements for the design system and contribute UX patterns adopted across the design org.
• Be an active peer in the design team and culture, encouraging open feedback.
