Qualifications

• 2+ years related work experience in group health underwriting and pricing.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Knowledge of state and federal statutes and underwriting principles.
• Proficient with underwriting systems (Siebel, E-rate, Renewal Rating Tool, MBI, RBMS).
• Strong analytical, communication and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess 51-299 exception requests for new business.
• Perform risk assessment based on medical information.
• Ensure groups meet underwriting guidelines.
• Analyze data to determine renewal rates and pricing.
• Prepare weekly and monthly underwriter reports with analysis.
• Prepare 5500s and Proshare settlements.
• Collaborate with Sales Reps to explain rates.
• Mentor junior underwriters and participate in projects.
