Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is seeking a Rating & Underwriting Specialist to support the Sales team by producing rates for 100+ markets and Stop Loss products. The role involves developing and issuing proposal rates and renewals, verifying GEI/BIFs, and collaborating on renewals with brokers.

The ideal candidate has a minimum high school diploma, a bachelor’s degree preferred in Math, Statistics or Accounting, and at least three years in health insurance underwriting.

Qualifikationen

• Develops and issues rates for 100+ markets and experience rated proposals.
• Supports Stop Loss underwriting and rating processes.
• Requires minimum three years of experience in health insurance underwriting.

Aufgaben

• Develops and issues proposal rates for group size 100+.
• Develops and issues experience rated renewals for group size 100+.
• Develops and issues renewal and proposal rates for alternately funded groups.
• Approves Group Enrollment Information (GEI) and Benefit Information Forms (BIFs) where applicable.
• Researches rate and benefit inconsistencies and issues corrections and/or recommendations.
• Assembles data and produces ERISA 5500 reports and settlements and issues to Sales, where applicable.
• Makses decisions to offer special financial arrangements to groups and monitors outcomes as required.
• Attends meetings with groups and brokers to discuss renewals and proposals and makes recommendations.
• Maintains and updates monthly financial reports necessary for Enterprise Operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
