Job summary

Black Bear Casino Resort is seeking a Grounds Technician to operate machinery, trim trees, landscape, and keep grounds in prime condition. You will supervise staff in the Grounds Manager's absence and assist with staff selection and scheduling.

The role requires 2 years of grounds maintenance experience, a valid US driver's license, and proficiency with Word/Excel/Outlook. This is a full-time, on-site position with responsibilities spanning records, project planning, and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in parking lot, grounds maintenance, and landscaping required.
• One year of supervising experience desired.
• Knowledge of word processing, Access, Excel and Outlook required.
• Ability to trim trees, cut lawns, landscape, and snowplow, keep grounds in good condition.
• Effective oral and written communication required.
• Attention to detail and accuracy required.
• Travel required.

Responsibilities

• Operates machinery such as loaders, backhoes, snowplows, and graders.
• Trims trees, landscapes, and keeps grounds in good condition.
• Supervise groundskeepers in the absence of the Grounds Manager and provide training.
• Assist in selection and scheduling of staff and discipline as needed.
• Maintain records of department activities and logging information.
• Review Groundskeeper reports and ensure proper reporting procedures.
• Maintain fleet vehicle logs and ensure licenses are current.
• Schedule workloads, plan projects, work with vendors, and read blueprints.
