Job summary

Henderson-Scott seeks an experienced Estimator to lead preconstruction for ground-up residential construction projects in New York. You will supervise the preconstruction process, prepare competitive bids, manage takeoffs and pricing, and collaborate with clients and design teams to drive profitability.

The ideal candidate has a BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management and at least five years of estimating and project supervision experience, with strong knowledge of construction

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience, project management experience, project supervision experience, or an equivalent combination of experience.
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions and trade practices.
• Proficient in project management software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products.
• Knowledge of Timberline Estimating, On-Screen Take-off, and Primavera scheduling software desirable.

Responsibilities

• Leads overall preconstruction process, delivering competitive bids, negotiated proposals, cost estimates, analysis and budgets.
• Prepares and executes project win strategies, including interviews and presentations of estimates.
• Oversees project teams to ensure successful preconstruction execution.
• Manages relationships with clients and design teams during the preconstruction phase.
• Performs estimating tasks as needed, including self-perform estimating.
• Creates conceptual budgets.
• Reviews project risk with operations to ensure profitability.
• Oversees pricing takeoffs and final reviews for accuracy.
• Develops and manages win strategies and leverages relationships for business development.
