Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of preconstruction, estimating, project management or supervision experience.
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions and trade practices.
• Proficient in project management software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with Procore, AutoCAD, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Prepares for interviews and presents estimates to support business development.

My client is a Residential Self-Preforming Developer with a track record of completing projects throughout the five boroughs. Their projects include new multi-family residential developments.

The Construction Estimator | Ground Up Construction will be responsible for management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of the project preconstruction phase to achieve the planning objectives with respect to cost, logistics, scheduling, estimating, and subcontracting. The successful Construction Estimator | Ground Up Construction will have a track record of preconstruction/ estimating experience as well as the ability to manage a team.

The Construction Estimator | Ground Up Construction responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Leads overall preconstruction process, resulting in a comprehensive deliverable that includes competitive bids, negotiated proposals, cost estimates, analysis, and budgets.
• Prepares and executes project win strategies by preparing for interviews and leading internal and external presentations of estimates and proposals to support the business development process.
• Oversees project teams and ensures successful execution and completion of the preconstruction process.
• Manages relationships with key clients and design team contacts during the preconstruction phase.
• Creates conceptual budgets.
• Partners with operations to review project risk assessment, scoring and completion.
• Review project business plan with other stakeholders, such as operations and office leadership, to ensure alignment and profitability.
• Develops and manages departmental and project win strategies. Leverages leads and relationships to enhance business development efforts.
• Oversees final review, development and overall accuracy and completion of takeoffs and internal pricing.
• Assumes an influential leadership role in community and industry relationship building through networking, representing the organization, and the preconstruction services function to help promote the interests of the company.
• Collaborates with operations executives to develop business plans and overall business strategies.
• Capable of performing estimating tasks as needed, including self-perform estimating.

Requirements for the Construction Estimator | Ground Up Construction will have:

• BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum of 1 years of preconstruction, estimating experience, project management experience, project supervision experience, or equivalent combination of experience.
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions and trade practices.
• Proficient in project management software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products.
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of software applications, such as Procore, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
