Job summary

Marand Builders, Inc. is seeking a General Contractor Construction Superintendent with ground-up project experience to lead on-site execution from start to finish across healthcare, financial services, commercial/administrative and light-industrial sectors.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in commercial construction, OSHA-30, Procore and MS Office proficiency, and strong leadership with the ability to travel up to 75% to multiple job sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• At least five years of experience in the commercial construction industry, overseeing all aspects of ground-up projects in healthcare, financial, and light industrial sectors.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• A Construction OSHA 30 within the last 5 years or ability to renew.
• Proficient in project reporting software, MS Office, and blueprint reading.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities; proactive and results-oriented.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites.

Responsibilities

• Enforce safety compliance (OSHA and Marand safety plans) as the top priority.
• Supervise field construction to meet design, budget, schedule, and customer objectives.
• Conduct weekly on-site meetings with subcontractors, vendors, and others.
• Enforce project procedures, safety requirements, and work rules.
• Ensure health and safety of workers per guidelines.
• Prepare and distribute field reports (daily, safety, etc.).
• Complete punch lists within customer-approved timeframes; use Procore for punch management.
• Monitor subcontractors' progress and ensure adequate manpower for schedule.
• Prepare subcontractor work schedules; input to Project Manager for schedules.
• Verify layouts with subcontractors and establish control lines/grades.
• Respond clearly to subcontractors about project documents; coordinate with Construction Manager.
• Participate in pre-construction planning (logistics, methods, bids, estimates).
• Maintain up-to-date contract documents on site.
• Ensure subs maintain red-line as-builts during construction.
• Maintain on-site field office to project a professional image.
• Communicate timely with Construction Manager on financial, safety, and progress issues.
• Interface with Project Managers and other personnel; mentor other Superintendents.
• Collaborate with other Superintendents on large projects as needed.
• Continue education in OSHA, safety, and management areas.
• Maintain Red Cross First Aid and CPR certifications.
