Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA, is seeking an experienced Avionics Ground Systems Engineer to lead design, build, and integration of critical ground support for engine testing, vehicle integration, and launch operations.

You will collaborate across vehicle, propulsion, avionics, software, and test teams, own ICDs and release drawings, ensure safety and compliance, and bring end-to-end systems online with high reliability.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on experience designing and deploying test or electrical integration systems.
• Expert knowledge of signal integrity, grounding, shielding, and power systems.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and commissioning electrical ground systems.
• Experience with data acquisition and safety control platforms (NI, Beckhoff).

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, build, and integration of ground systems for engine test, vehicle integration, and launch operations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with vehicle, propulsion, avionics, software, test, and operations teams to deliver robust systems.
• Oversee fabrication, bring-up, and validation of test systems, including electrical testing, calibration, and functional checks.
• Author interface control documents (ICDs) and engineering release drawings for ground support equipment alignment with flight/avionics hardware.
• Work with safety, operations, and launch teams to ensure systems are compliant and operable under high-stakes conditions.
