Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach is seeking a Lead Avionics Test Systems Engineer, Ground Systems to design and deploy critical ground facilities that support engine tests, vehicle integration, and launch operations.

You will collaborate across propulsion, vehicle, avionics, software, and test teams, own the ground test architecture, and drive safety, reliability, and rapid iteration from concept to qualification.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace or related engineering field.
• 5+ years designing and deploying test systems or electrical integration in aerospace/high‑reliability environments.
• Expert knowledge of signal integrity, grounding, shielding, and power systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, build, and integration of ground systems for engine tests, vehicle integration and launch operations.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with vehicle, propulsion, avionics, software, test and operations teams to deliver robust systems.
• Oversee fabrication, bring‑up and validation of test systems, including electrical testing, calibration and checks.
• Author ICDs and engineering release drawings to ensure tight alignment between ground equipment and flight/avionics hardware.
• Work with safety, operations and launch teams to ensure systems are compliant and operable under high‑stakes conditions.
